ECM Connection Names Westbrook Technologies ACE Award Finalist

Hospice Pharmacia nominates Westbrook Fortis for innovative document management solution

Branford, CT – August 18, 2010 – Westbrook Technologies, developer of Fortis™ and FortisBlue™ enterprise document management (ECM) software, today announced it has been recognized as a finalist in the Vertical Applications category for the 2010 ACE Awards sponsored by ECM Connection magazine.

Mark Robinson, senior applications engineer at Hospice Pharmacia, and a Fortis user, nominated Westbrook Technologies for the award. Hospice Pharmacia is a division of excelleRx, a pioneer in the field of medication management for hospice and specialty disease markets. The company primarily provides medication management services for patients who are in hospice care, which includes expert end-of-life symptom consultation and access to palliative medications.

Hospice Pharmacia cannot work on their IT systems during business hours; everything must be done between 1 a.m. and 5 a.m. “KDI comes on site and performs software upgrades during this small window,” Robinson said. “Westbrook’s professional services department is also available to us after hours as needed. Both organizations are very responsive. Our business required the capability to read two dimensional barcodes to expedite shipping of prescriptions, Westbrook created an application specifically for that purpose.”
