Disparate rolls of microfilm were replaced
with Fortis PowerWeb and, as a result, ACC has cut retrieval time
in half. With their microfilm system, adding a new file to an old
record was next to impossible. "There was no way it could have
been done with microfilm - that's the beauty of Fortis," said
ACC Records Management Department Manager Kay Barclay, of Fortis
PowerWeb's ability to digitally annotate records, add files or redact
documents.

Bank officials realized a return on investment
within 60 days of Fortis' full implementation. "The time saved
alone has been worth the cost," Westbrook Technologies' Partner
Mariano Lores said. "Westbrook Technologies' software suite
was made for an organization with this many documents."

Title Company
Thanks to Westbrook Technologies, Countywide
Title's "paper plant" is a one-room office with three
employees and no paper files. Three employees perform the work that
10 people perform at competing companies. Typical transaction times
at title companies are between two and 10 days, in order to search
for property history, bankruptcies, foreclosures and liens. With
Westbrook Technologies' software, searches have been reduced to
five hours or less.
EHV-Weidmann
Industries
"We were actually able to create templates,
test and load all data into Fortis ERM in only one week," said
Business System Analyst Chip Deasy. Fortis saves EHV-Weidmann time
and resources by digitally running general ledger reports that,
if run manually, would amount to approximately 1,400 sheets of paper
a month.

Wanted Magazine
Publisher Wade Maule estimated that the
$90,000 invested in Fortis Office would be returned in 18 months,
but Employees Wanted is now looking at an even quicker 12-month
ROI. Previously, duplicate invoices would be created and attached
to sales sheets, then stored in the filing cabinets, taking an employee
a day and a quarter to file. That same process is now taking two
hours in Fortis Office. Employees Wanted magazine has also eliminated
50 paper filing cabinets. $20,000 in revenue was lost each year
because of advertisement forms that the billing, sales and graphics
departments would misplace, money that's been recovered thanks to
Fortis Office.
Louisiana
Women's Healthcare Associates
A primary objective of LWHA was to reduce the amount of nurses'
clerical time to virtually zero. Previously, nurses would spend
10 to 15 percent of their workday looking for patient information.
Today, that time is spent on patient consultation, blood work and
other nursing duties related to patient care instead of clerical
work.
Relative Value Units are a measuring tool used by Medicare to determine
productivity and the amount of money reimbursed to medical facilities.
Select nursing care at LWHA was previously reimbursed at a rate
of 70 Relative Value Units (RVUs) per month. That value has been
increased to 190 RVUs per month, because of the increased patient
time the nurses now spend.
LWHA doctors see approximately 100 patients per week, and assistants
are required to retrieve charts at the beginning of the week so
doctors can bring themselves up to speed about their patients. Previously,
five to seven of those 100 charts would be lost or irretrievable,
leaving doctors with little or no reference to some of their patient's
histories. With Fortis document management no charts are ever lost,
and doctors always have the tools available to make informed and
accurate decisions about every patient.

This tie manufacturer has two locations in Seattle a half-mile
apart, and those offices both receive requests for historical
information.
Prior to electronic document management, a file would have to be
recovered from a filing cabinet or storage locker and faxed to
the other office. Now, our document management software allows
instant retrieval and connectivity between cross-town
locations. Said Director of Information Systems Mark Henderson,
"From a customer service standpoint, document management has
improved efficiency and productivity - we are able to access any
type of
order information with greater speed, which allows us to ship more
products and realize greater profits."
MTI
Inspection Services
Previously, if a claims adjuster needed an inspection report, a
claims clerk had to locate the report in file at the general office
or at a field location and bring it to the adjuster. Now, the adjuster
goes to their Web site and performs a quick search for the report.
Because the information is digitally indexed, a process that would
have taken them a week of solid work to accumulate now takes seconds.
"Westbrook Technologies offered the only product we could
rely upon. Basically, we will be managing critical documents for
our customers' claim departments and if the system is down for even
a day, serious problems could result. That's why we needed a solid
platform and again, Fortis was the best out there," President
Bill Fullerton said.
