| Web-based Solution |
FortisBlue is Web-based so no matter where you are, at home, at work or on the road, the interface is the same and your user preferences are applied. Because FortisBlue is installed once on a server, and viewed via the Web, there’s no time spent installing software on every workstation in your organization – and an administrator can work from any computer. Network security concerns are also minimized because users don’t access the network – the system does. |
| User-friendly Interface |
End users and administrators will find FortisBlue’s intuitive interface makes daily tasks much easier. A tabbed view allows for toggling between multiple documents, query results, folder contents and databases. Choose and reorder which columns to display in a result set on-the-fly. For example, it’s simple to view a full set of fields for detailed work and a limited number of fields, such as only date, customer name and product code, for a review process. It’s easy to zoom in and out to focus on pertinent sections of a document. Annotations available include lines, boxes, stamp text and redaction. |
| Built -in Scanning |
Scan capability included in FortisBlue’s core offering reduces cost of ownership and works with any TWAIN or ISIS scanner. Users can access and apply Optical Character Recognition (OCR) and Bar Code Recognition (BCR) templates created in FortisBlue. FortisBlue’s scanning capabilities enable blank page and barcode separation and image enhancement. Users can preview a document and rearrange, insert and remove pages before importing it into the repository. The scanning module requires installation on each workstation. |
| Built-in Workflow |
Automates business processes, such as approvals, and helps organizations meet compliance requirements. The workflow tool takes a menu-driven approach to creating rules and scheduling processes. The simple interface makes it easy to review each step, and then test the process you’ve built. |
| Point-and-Shoot Indexing |
Keyless data entry with an easy-to-use point and click interface for guided zonal Optical Character Recognition (OCR). Select text on the document, click and automatically populate the FortisBlue index field. |
| Full Text and Metadata Search |
Provides flexibility to enable users to quickly find the information they need. Full Text search highlights the search term in the results. The full text engine supports wildcards, synonym searches, and fuzzy and Boolean logic. FortisBlue also perform searches based on index data and enables users to limit searches by folders and subfolders. |
| Simple and Advanced Queries |
FortisBlue supports two query levels – A Simple Query, using the Find feature, allows users to obtain information or retrieve a document on-the-fly. Advanced Queries can be saved and accessed over and over and edited as necessary. Advanced Queries can be built to either search on a constant value or prompt the user for the search value. |
| Administrative Client |
Administrators can create document types, security policies, give feature access and define audit functions. Intuitively create new databases or delete existing databases and create additional inboxes.
With FortisBlue, administrators build a library of reusable objects including document types, type fields, format masks and pick lists. Employing reusable objects saves time and promotes standardization. Administrators can easily create related field groups for better database control. Administrators can also toggle back and forth between the user interface and the administrators interface and have both clients open. |
| Audit Capability |
Track both user activity on documents and administrative activity on database objects. Administrators can determine who printed or modified a document as well as who moved or deleted it. The auditing system records configuration changes allowing for complete visibility into the management of the application. |
| Advanced Security |
FortisBlue’s security works with existing Windows® users and groups. Any changes to, or addition of, network users is detected by the FortisBlue system. Administrators can apply security policies to each document type and configure security policies as necessary for each database that is maintained. Feature access also can be locked down or extended, using roles, depending on customer requirements. FortisBlue provides the ability to institute a complex security scheme, with security for Folders, Queries and documents. This allows users to protect private information from unauthorized viewers.
Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) capability provides an end-to-end secure and authenticated connection between the client and the server. |
| Cloud-ready Technology |
FortisBlue is based on Windows® Communication Foundation Web Services and naturally lends itself to communicating over the Internet or intranet networks. FortisBlue offers a true Service Oriented Architecture, an open system that enables easy integration from simple, single Web Service requests to complex business process automation and backend systems integrations.
A zero-footprint application, FortisBlue delivers ongoing value by providing powerful processing capabilities via a browser regardless of platform or location. End users can view and manipulate documents in real-time using AJAX technology to make dynamic requests to the document repository. Software updates can be made quickly without disrupting end users. |
