Fortis DocPack

Software utility exports data and documents to portable media

Fortis DocPack is a utility which allows a Fortis user to export data and documents to a portable media. This enables a Fortis or non-Fortis user to gain access to these documents stored on any type of media in PDF format. Fortis DocPack also provides full searching capabilities.

No special viewers or installs are necessary to run Fortis DocPack. Simply run a query within the Fortis thick client; then select the Fortis DocPack icon to stage documents to any UNC path.

Fortis DocPack expands document management functionality through a portable, travel-light utility for projects, presentations, court cases, research assignments or for simple reference.

For example, Fortis DocPack offers a unique offline resource to attornies, utility workers or any remote staff that require simple access to Fortis documents in a standard format without the need for installation or special viewers.

How Does it Work?
From any Fortis query results screen, select the docpack icon and an export location. All data from the results screen is ported into a formated HTML web page along with a link to the exported Fortis document in PDF format.

Once the staging (export) process has completed and burned to a CD, DVD, hard drive or some other media device, the user simply double-clicks the .hta document and is presented all document data with a link next to each query row (see screen shots below).

This solution requires no client downloads or installations. There is a small DocPack.EXE that can be copied to a directory local on those machines that stage the Fortis documents and data which generates the PDF documents and HTML data output. The end result are PDF files that reference a single HTML file
