Fortis Update Assistant

Update Fortis automatically, on your schedule


Fortis Update Assistant allows your organization to use data saved in an ASCII file to update index data in Fortis. With a few quick steps users can update or add index data and/or add and replace pages in their existing Fortis documents. Fortis Update Assistant is particularly useful for large-scale updates because it can be run during off-hours so that it doesn’t interfere with network performance. Since Fortis Update Assistant uses a delimited ASCII file, it can be used with databases that are not ODBC compliant. The update functionality is accessed right from the Import menu in Fortis.

How does it work?
To begin the index update users need a delimited ASCII file and a predefined Query in Fortis. When Fortis Update Assistant is invoked it searches for a unique value in each document. For example, this value might be a purchase order number, a patient ID, a claim number or a case number. If the value is not unique, the user can specify that if multiple documents are found Fortis Update Assistant should update all occurrences or send a notification to the user.
